We ask guests to pre-purchase all tickets online before arriving for the tour!

The Old Town Ghost Walk lasts roughly 90 minutes walking less than 1 mile. The tour travels at a leisurely pace over Newport sidewalks, so it is accessible to everyone. Please keep in mind, we do not end at the starting location.

So if you are unfamiliar with Newport, either follow your guide back to the Marriott after the tour or ask them for a specific direction. Wheelchairs and strollers are permitted as well so our Ghost Walk is accessible to everyone.

Senior, Military and children’s discount tickets are available online only. We do offer coupons on our ads and rack cards but those can only be used at our ticket vendors in Newport and are just for Adult tickets.

Senior discounts are good for anyone 65 and older. Military discounts are good for any branch of military service, both active or retired. Children’s discounts are for anyone 12 years old or younger. Kids 5 and under are free. The online price already includes the discount and remember no tickets are mailed.

Just print the online ticket you receive in your confirmation email or show your guide the receipt from your smart phone.

Parking is available close to our starting location at the Newport Marriott Hotel, but there is a fee. We recommend if you are staying in the downtown area, especially in the summer season, to walk to the tour. Parking meters are just outside the Marriott Hotel on Long Wharf and require payment every day from May 1st through October 31st. Meters no longer require payment after 9 pm.

There are a public parking lot and garage on the north side of the Marriott Hotel at the Newport Visitors Center. This lot and garage have an hourly fee. There is no public parking at the Marriott for tour guests, they only offer valet and it is just for registered hotel guests.

Please avoid parking on neighborhood streets during high season. Most Newport neighborhoods require a resident parking sticker in the evening and it is strictly enforced. Please arrive early to look for parking. Downtown Newport can be quite busy and parking may be at a premium!

We allow children of any age to attend but they must be 16 or older to attend without an adult. Anyone 15 and younger must attend with a parent or guardian who is at least 18 or older. There is no age restriction to attend the tour.

Our Ghost Walk is historically based and is not like a haunted house where things jump out to scare you. But keep in mind we do speak about Newport’s dark and bizarre history and true,documented ghost sightings.

So please keep that in mind if any young children(or adults for that matter) are overly sensitive to ghost stories, we can not be held responsible for nightmares or sleepless nights thereafter.

Adult tickets are $20 per person, children 12 and under are $12 and kids 5 and under are free. We do offer adult ticket discounts with the coupons on our ads. Senior, Military and Children’s discount tickets can only be purchased online.

Light rain, drizzle or showers will not cancel the tour. Please bring an umbrella or poncho if rain seems imminent but we proceed rain or shine. Heavy downpours and lighting will cancel the tour. We do not wish to add any more ghosts to our tour, especially ours!

We will usually have our guide on-site at the Marriott Hotel standing by and will make a final decision based on the current conditions and forecast at the scheduled tour time.

Please remember we do not refund previously purchased tickets unless we cancel the tour because of dangerous conditions or lightning directly over Downtown Newport. If you have any weather questions or concerns please email us at info@ghostsofnewport.com

We can arrange private group tours for any size from 2 to 200. The private tour pricing is based on the number of people attending. Private Group Tours can set up any for any starting time you wish and are great for bachelorette parties, birthdays, wedding groups or corporate events.

Please email us with the number of people in the group, a night you wish to hold your private ghost walk and what starting time you prefer. We will review the information and email you back with the customized price quote for your tour.

You meet your ghost host INSIDE the Newport Marriott Hotel, 25 America’s Cup Avenue. 2nd floor next to their restaurant Mainsail and the Skiff Bar. Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled tour time because tours do start on time. Your costumed guide dressed in black, carrying a lantern is awaiting your arrival.
